Erika Hong

Erika Hong has over 5 years of work experience in the field of histology. In 2019, they joined Reveal Biosciences as Erika'stology Manager, where they were responsible for leading a histo-tech team on a variety of histology techniques. Erika was also responsible for daily routines of special stains and optimizing antibodies. Additionally, they handled clientele service and multitasking across different studies daily. Prior to that, they worked for Organovo Holdings, Inc. from 2014-2019, first as a Research Associate 2 - Erika'stology, where they were proficient in microtome and cryostat sectioning, IHC, IF, paraffin and frozen embedding, handling tissue processor and autostainer, and optimizing antibodies with different methods. Later, they were promoted to Lab Assistant, where they implemented the responsibilities for this title as it became a full-time position. Erika was also responsible for helping write SOPs and revising old ones, as well as inventory and restocking for the whole research department through different vendors.

Erika Hong graduated from UC San Diego in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology.
