Alex Rybak has extensive experience in product management and leadership roles in the software industry. They started their career as a Software Tester at Geoworks in 1996. They then worked as a Facilities Engineer at Adaptec before joining AT&T as a Common Systems Engineer.
In 1999, Alex joined Selectica as a Technical Lead and later became a Solutions Engineering Manager. They managed teams and worked on projects to improve order accuracy and decrease costs for customers.
Alex joined Palamida in 2006 as a Senior Professional Services Consultant and later became a Principal Solutions Engineer. They were responsible for managing product requirements, leading delivery engagements, and working with customers on feature requirements and product innovations. Palamida was acquired by Flexera in 2016, and Alex was retained as a Senior Director of Product Management at Revenera.
At Revenera, Alex has played key roles in driving the strategy and delivery of software composition analysis (SCA) solutions. They were involved in launching a new SaaS solution for Software Bill of Material (SBOM) management. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director of Product Management and are a member of the Revenera leadership team.
Alex Rybak has a strong educational background in both business and engineering. They obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from San Jose State University between 2000 and 2003. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, from 1993 to 1998. Alex Rybak's secondary education was completed at Alameda High School, where they obtained a high school diploma from 1989 to 1993. Additionally, they have obtained additional certifications from The Linux Foundation, including "LFC191: Open Source Licensing Basics for Software Developers" in July 2021 and "LFC192: Generating a Software Bill of Materials" in June 2021.
