Richard Ivey has extensive work experience in marketing and business development roles. Richard currently serves as the Vice President of Consumer Marketing at Reynolds American Inc., a role they have held since July 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Vice President of Marketing Product Development and Strategic Foresights & Insights at the same company from September 2020 to October 2022.

Before joining Reynolds American Inc., Richard worked at British American Tobacco for several years. Richard held various leadership positions, including Head of Consumer Marketing for the East Asia Area from November 2019 to September 2021, Head of Brands for the East Asia Area from November 2018 to November 2019, and Head of Strategy, Planning and Insights for the East Asia Area from July 2017 to November 2019. Richard also served as the Head of Brands in Vietnam from November 2016 to July 2017 and held other strategic marketing and planning roles within the Greater China Area and Southeast Asia.

Earlier in their career, Richard worked at OgilvyAction, where they served as the Head of Business Development and a Business Development Manager focusing on sports and entertainment. Richard also worked as an Account Manager at The European Tour PGA.

Richard Ivey attended Millfield School in Somerset, where they studied A-Levels and GCSEs. Richard then went on to pursue a degree in English Literature at the University of the West of England from 2003 to 2007.
