Serena Filosa Fsa Fcia

Serena Filosa FSA FCIA has extensive experience in the actuarial and risk management fields, currently serving as VP and Chief Risk Officer for RGA Canada at Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated since October 2018. Prior roles include AVP and Actuary, and Director and Actuary in Corporate Actuarial. Serena's career began at Optimum Reassurance inc., where responsibilities ranged from Actuarial Consultant in risk management to Assistant Actuarial Consultant in business development. Previous experience also includes managerial roles at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada, overseeing financial supervisory teams and ensuring compliance for life insurance institutions. Early career experience at Morneau Shepell involved pension calculations and process improvements. Serena holds a BSc in Mathematics - Actuarial from Université de Montréal, an MFS in Forensic Sciences - Biology from The George Washington University, and a BSc in Biology - Molecular Genetics and Developmental Biology from McGill University.
