Group Human Resource Advisor at RHB Bank Berhad

Jamaluddin Bakri was appointed as the Group Human Resource Advisor on 12 April 2021.

In his current role, he is responsible for leading the execution of all human capital initiatives across the Group, which includes development and execution of long-term Human Resources (“HR”) strategies and the continuous elevation of internal HR capability to support the Group’s strategic goals. He is also responsible in the strategic planning, organisational development, human capital development, succession planning, rewards and performance management for the Group.

Jamaluddin brings with him more than 20 years of solid track record in HR functions, having spent more than 15 years overseas where he gained experience working with different nationalities, diverse cultures and working styles. He has also partnered with Business Leaders of multinational and local organisations in driving various HR strategies globally and locally.

Prior to his current role, he was the Group Chief Human Resource Officer of RHB Banking Group for 7 years. His other roles before joining RHB includes being the Group Head of HR for IHH Healthcare Berhad, one of the largest private healthcare companies in the world. He also spent 14 years with Microsoft in various HR leadership functions, with his last role as Regional HR Director for Asia Services.

He holds an MBA in Human Resources from the University of Hull, United Kingdom with a background in Mechanical Engineering.
