Richard Freed

Richard Freed has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Richard co-founded RheumaGen in 2018 and serves as the Chief Executive Officer. Richard secured $4.6 million in seed funding and expanded the company's offerings to include multiple autoimmune indications. Richard filed an FDA INTERACT document for the lead indication of severe, refractory rheumatoid arthritis and is preparing for IND submission in 2024.

Prior to RheumaGen, Richard worked at DuPont from 2009 to 2018. Richard held multiple roles, including Healthcare Practice Leader and Strategy, Planning, and M&A. In these positions, they partnered with industry experts to tailor DuPont's consulting methodologies to the healthcare setting, improved safety culture and operational efficiency in hospitals and medical testing labs, licensed technology, provided operations management consulting globally, and led a joint venture with BP in the biotechnology industry.

Richard also has experience from their time at Grossman Plastic Surgery, where they worked as a Marketing Director from 2005 to 2007.

Richard Freed completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Boston College from the year 2000 to 2004. Richard later pursued further education and acquired an MBA degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School between the years 2007 and 2009.
