Matt Husby has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Matt currently works as a Senior Software Engineer at Rhino since January 2021. Prior to this, they had a long tenure at Automattic starting from April 2012 until July 2020, where they worked as a Software Engineer. During their time at Automattic, they were involved in extensive A/B testing, built a template-based email campaign management system, and developed a domain name management console.

Before joining Automattic, Matt worked at GroupCard as a Developer from May 2008 to April 2012. In this role, they developed and launched products on social networking and SaaS sites, developed the GroupCard Enterprise application within Salesforce, and leveraged open source products to improve performance. Matt also played a key role in developing and documenting a flexible API for 3rd party integration and collaborated with well-known partners to develop new APIs.

Matt's early career included working as an Avionics Technician in the USAF from May 2001 to May 2007 and as an Assistant Network Administrator at UW-Milwaukee in 2003.

Throughout their career, Matt has gained experience in various programming languages, technologies, and domains, including PHP, MySQL, CSS, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, Objective-C, and Erlang. Matt has also accomplished notable achievements, such as winning a $250,000 grant through fbFund 2008 and the PayPal X pre-release prize.
