Anna M. Cano-Morales

Interim VP, External Relations & Diversity at Rhode Island College

Anna M. Cano-Morales is a passionate advocate for social justice and educational equity. Anna has dedicated their career to working with underserved communities and fighting for the rights of all people.

Anna began their career as a social worker with Rhode Islanders Sponsoring Education (RISE), where they helped create a support and case management plan for each student enrolled in the program. Anna also worked with mentors of the students and host independent and private schools.

In 2000, Anna joined The Rhode Island Foundation as the Associate Vice President. In this role, they oversaw the Foundation's grantmaking programs and worked to increase access to funding for underserved communities.

From 2013 to 2017, Anna served as the Director of the Latino Policy Institute at Roger Williams University. In this position, they worked to advance public policy that benefits Latino communities in Rhode Island.

Anna is currently the Interim Vice President of External Relations & Diversity at Rhode Island College. In this role, they are responsible for leading the college's efforts to build relationships with external constituents and promote diversity and inclusion on campus.

Anna Cano-Morales has a Master of Social Work from Rhode Island College and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development, Family Studies, and Related Services from the University of Rhode Island.

They are on a team with Clark M. Greene - Interim VP, College Advancement & Executive Director, RIC Foundation, Helen Tate - Provost & VP, Academic Affairs, and Jenifer R. Giroux - AVP. Anna M. Cano-Morales reports to Jack Warner, Interim President.
