Kate MacDonald

Kate MacDonald is the Director of Communications at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Prior to their current role, Kate was with Citizens Bank as the AVP of Communications from September 2018 to December 2021. Prior to their time at Citizens Bank, Kate was with Coastway Community Bank as the Vice President | Marketing & Social Media Manager from September 2002 to September 2018. In this role, Kate conceptualized and implemented all facets of content, creative, digital, mobile, advertising, print collateral and experience journeys across all channels of communication. Kate also drove lead generation and lead nuturing for the bank’s top sales channels: business lending, mortgage and retail. Additionally, Kate spearheaded the bank’s social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. Other responsibilities included managing the development of a new bank website, preparing and tracking yearly marketing budgets, identifying opportunities for the development of new products and marketing solutions, organizing and executing company events, and designing and implementing direct mail campaigns. Kate’s work also contributed to market intelligence, competitive and trend analysis, and data collection. As a result of their work, Coastway Community Bank was honored in the Providence Business News Business Excellence Awards in 2017 and Rhode Island Monthly’s Common Good Awards in 2018.

Kate MacDonald's educational career includes earning a bachelor's degree in marketing from Rhode Island College, an associate's degree in communications from the University of Rhode Island, and a certificate in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales University.

Kate MacDonald reports to Andrew Schiff, CEO. A direct report to Kate MacDonald is and Samantha Polon - Communications Coordinator. They work with Christine Cannata - Chief Financial Officer, Maribeth Cirelli - Director of Administration, and Karen Fuller - Director of Philanthropy.
