James Shelby

James Shelby has over 40 years of work experience, starting with their role as a Central Office Technician at CONTEL of INDIANA from July 1977 to an unknown end date. James then moved on to become a Manager - Network Operations Center at the same company from an unknown start date to 1985. In this role, they managed a team of ten technicians and was responsible for remote network troubleshooting and mentoring NOC engineers.

From 1985 to 2010, James worked as a Senior Technical Support Engineer at Nortel. During their time there, they provided software patches for software corruption issues, designed software solutions, and demonstrated strong troubleshooting abilities. James also wrote scripts in various languages such as JavaScript and KSH.

In 2010, James joined Genband as a Senior Technical Support Engineer. In this role, they continued to provide advanced hardware and software resolutions for both IP and TDM-based equipment. James also created software patches and assisted on-site TELCO personnel with problem identification and resolution. James remained with Genband until November 2017.

Since November 2017, James has been working at Ribbon Communications as a Technical Support Engineering Technical Specialist/Designer III. James'sresponsibilities include providing advance hardware and software resolutions for both IP and TDM-based telecommunications equipment, creating software patches, and assisting on-site TELCO personnel with problem identification and resolution.

James Shelby began their education at Seymour Senior High School, where they studied Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from 1972 to 1975. Following that, from 1975 to 1977, they attended Ivy Tech Community College with a focus on Electronics Communications. In addition to their formal education, James Shelby obtained several certifications, including an Amateur Extra Class Amateur Radio License and a First Class Radiotelephone License with Ship Radar Endorsement from the Federal Communications Commission. James also obtained a TV and Radio License with Master Antenna and CB Endorsements from the State of Indiana.
