Job description

Our Project Superintendent's manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and Rice Companies personnel, to ensure highest quality control, safety practices, maintain on-time scheduling and budgeting. This position may require the individual to be traveling to in-state and out-of-state job sites on a regular basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Records and submits daily project report of all subcontractors, suppliers or Rice Companies assigned work. Consult Daily Reporting SOP for more info/direction.
  • Maintains construction schedule to include four (4) week look ahead, identifies and solves problems, maintains estimated budget, insures quality workmanship conforming to original project plans/specifications, identifies risks and resolves within guidelines established by Rice Companies and Project Managers.
  • Orders incidentals and stores or stages proactively to have ready for Rice Companies labor.
  • Schedules and documents inspections, as necessary, in collaboration with Project Manager and subcontractors.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with owners, customers, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other Rice Companies employees.
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices, documents and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
  • Maintains a clean and organized job site, including job site construction office.
  • Verifies current drawings are being utilized by Rice Companies labor and all subcontractors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible, broad-based, commercial construction experience including pertinent demonstrated construction leadership experience

  • OSHA 10 Certification

  • SWPPP Certification

  • Equipment certifications (scissor lift, forklifts, boom lifts, skid steer, etc.)

  • Demonstrated proficiency of construction tools and equipment, including but not limited to saws, drills, levels, transits, hand tools, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret plans/prints

  • Self-starter, highly motivated and goal-oriented individual with leadership skills

  • Possess ability to schedule and multi-task in a Microsoft Office environment

  • Working knowledge of both State/Federal Building Codes

  • Occasional lifting of over 50 pounds without assistance

  • Overnight travel will be required
