Kimberly Vetter

Director of Presidential Communications at Rice University

Kimberly Vetter is a passionate, creative, award-winning communications professional with experience in writing, editing, video production and project management. She joined Rice University in 2020 as a communications specialist for the Provost. She moved into her role as director of presidential communications in 2022. In this role, she oversees and manages communications and communication strategy for the Office of the President.

Vetter has more than eight years of experience in corporate communications. She also is a skilled writer and editor with more than a decade of experience in newspaper journalism.

Vetter holds a graduate degree in journalism from the University of North Texas and an undergraduate degree in communications from Centenary College of Louisiana. Throughout her career, she has won many awards for her work including the National Sunshine Award from the Society of Professional Journalists, a Bronze Quill Award from the International Association of Business Communicators, and several Crystal Awards from the American Marketing Association.

Vetter is an effective relationship builder, strategic planner, and most importantly, a natural storyteller.
