Madelyn M. Peay

Madelyn M. Peay has a diverse work experience in the field of housing and property management. Madelyn M. started their career as a Property Manager at PRG Real Estate, where they oversaw the daily business operations of a 262-unit townhouse development. Madelyn M. then worked as a Director of Property Management at Walkwood Properties, Inc., where they successfully turned around property management operations for 60 single-family homes.

Madelyn also had experience in the military, serving as a Supply Sergeant in the Army National Guard, providing supply and logistical support for a logistics battalion.

Madelyn M. has also held leadership positions in various housing organizations, including the Jefferson County Assisted Housing Corporation, where they managed an $85 million housing portfolio, and the Hopewell Redevelopment & Housing Authority, where they served as both Chief Operating Officer and Public Housing Director, overseeing housing management operations and providing leadership and expertise in property management and financial matters.

Most recently, Madelyn joined the Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity as the Chief Executive Officer. In this role, they are responsible for growing the organization and ensuring equitable access to safe, quality, and affordable housing in the Richmond metropolitan area. Additionally, they founded Peay United, Inc., a company that provides affordable housing solutions and interim executive consulting services.

Madelyn M. Peay's education history includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Real Estate Finance from Marylhurst University, obtained from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they pursued a Master Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, completed between 2009 and 2012. Madelyn M. holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Individualized Studies from Virginia State University, achieved by 2006. Madelyn also studied towards a Bachelor of Science in Communications at Old Dominion University until 2003.
