Susan Walters

Chief Librarian at Richmond Public Library

Susan Walters has a diverse work experience in the library field. Susan started working at the City of Richmond as an Auxiliary Archivist in 2003 and held this role until 2005. In 2004, they joined the Richmond Public Library and progressed through various roles, including Public Services Librarian, Manager of Customer Services, Deputy Chief Librarian, and currently serves as the Chief Librarian. Susan assumed the position of Chief Librarian in January 2017.

Susan Walters obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English from Athabasca University. Susan then pursued a Master of Archival Studies (M.A.S)/Master of Library and Information Studies (M.L.I.S) degree from The University of British Columbia from 2002 to 2004. Later, from 2014 to 2016, they attended the University of Toronto iSchool and completed a Public Library Leadership Fellows Certificate.
