Waldo Maticorena

Waldo Maticorena has a diverse and extensive work experience in various industries. Waldo started their career as a SOX Advisory Manager at PwC Canada, where they implemented SOX and C-SOX for multiple clients. Waldo then moved on to PwC Colombia as an Assurance Manager, where they developed audit strategies for clients in the oil and gas, mining, and pharmaceutical industries.

Following their time at PwC, Maticorena served as the CFO for La Cortes Energy, an early-stage oil and gas exploration and production company. Waldo then joined ADAMA Ltd., a global leader in crop protection products, as the CFO for the Andean Region. Maticorena played a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the company, which operates in multiple countries and generates annual sales of $5.9 billion.

After their tenure at ADAMA Ltd., Maticorena founded and became the CEO of MASTERS LATAM, a consulting and training company specializing in IFRS adoption and accounting policies development. In their role, they focused on business development through various channels such as social media campaigns, cold calling, and presentations.

Most recently, Maticorena held the position of Senior Manager for Audit and Advisory at PKF ANTARES (Canada) before joining Rileys as the Chief Financial Officer. With this background, Maticorena brings a wealth of expertise in finance, accounting, and business development to their current role.

Waldo Maticorena has a diverse education history. In 2001-2002, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree specializing in Finance from ESAN Graduate School Of Business. In 2002, they further enhanced their business knowledge by completing the MBA Exchange Program at UCLA Anderson School of Management, focusing on Business Administration and Management. Additionally, they acquired a Certificate in IFRS from ICAEW, specializing in Financial Accounting. In 2013-2015, they completed the CMA Strategic Leadership Programme, offered by Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada). Furthermore, they obtained a SOC 2 Certificate from LinkedIn Learning in 2023, specializing in SOC 2.
