Danie Burger

Danie Burger is an experienced professional in underground mining technology and management, currently serving as Chief Advisor - Underground Technology at Rio Tinto since November 2019. With a strong background in implementing and optimizing excavation strategies, Danie has previously held significant roles at Anglo American and The De Beers Group of Companies, managing projects such as the Venetia Underground Project and leading teams focused on mining applications development at Sandvik Mining. Danie's educational qualifications include a BTech in Mining Engineering from the University of Johannesburg and a Diploma in International Management from the Stockholm School of Economics, among other management-focused programs.
