Jonathan Baggett

Jonathan Baggett is an experienced mining engineer currently employed at Rio Tinto since September 2019. Prior to this role, Jonathan served as a Graduate Student Researcher at Virginia Tech Mining and Minerals Engineering from August 2017 to August 2019. Additionally, Jonathan completed a Pathways Internship at the United States Geological Survey in the summer of 2018, focusing on research for the annual Minerals Yearbook, particularly for Scandinavian countries and the Iberian Peninsula. Earlier experience includes a mining engineering internship at Lehigh Hanson in 2016 and at Potash Corp of Saskatchewan in 2015, where Jonathan worked on lab-scale plant processing and data management for exploratory projects. Jonathan holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mining and Mineral Engineering, both from Virginia Tech.
