Mohamoud Sagaale is an experienced electrical project professional with a strong background in engineering and project management. Currently serving as the Electrical Project Lead at Rio Tinto since October 2019, Mohamoud previously worked as an Electrical Project Engineer at Ausenco Downer Joint Venture, where key responsibilities included the EPC of a minerals processing plant and site power distribution for the Carrapateena copper-gold mine project. Prior to that, experience as an Electrical Field Engineer at Downer and involvement in significant LNG projects such as Ichthys and Wheatstone enhanced expertise in electrical installations and project execution. Early career roles included Junior Project Engineer at ASTAD Project Management and Graduate Electrical Engineer at Electrel Pty Ltd, complemented by foundational experience as an Undergraduate Engineer at ZBB Energy Corporation. Mohamoud holds a Master’s Degree in Project Management from Curtin University and a Double Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Power Engineering and Renewable Energy Engineering from Murdoch University.
