Chuy Ayala

Chuy Ayala is an experienced professional with a diverse background. Chuy is currently working at Riot Platforms, Inc. as the Director of Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit, and SOX Compliance. Prior to this, they were at AMD, where they held multiple roles including Head of Internal Audit (Americas) and Head of IT Audit (Global). In these positions, they were responsible for managing and executing various financial, operational, and IT projects, such as Business Continuity Planning, Cybersecurity, Inventory Reserves, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control assessments. Before joining AMD, Chuy worked at Hanger, Inc. as a Senior IT Auditor, where they developed the internal IT audit function and collaborated with external auditors. Chuy also has experience at Temple-Inland, where they performed financial, operational, and IT audits in various areas. In addition to their corporate roles, Chuy has been involved in entrepreneurial and consulting projects, providing freelance consulting and guidance to small local companies and start-ups, as well as owning and operating a private recording studio and co-founding an early-stage waste-to-energy company.

Chuy Ayala obtained a Master's Degree in Technology Commercialization from the Texas McCombs School of Business from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2008, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from St. Edward's University. Chuy Ayala also holds a certification as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA.
