Josh Gray has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Josh currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Nitrogen since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Investor & Advisor for multiple startups starting in 2001. From 2015, they were a Member of Faculty at the International Institute for Analytics. Additionally, they served as an Engineering Leadership Academy Adviser at Oregon State University starting in 2014. Josh also provided advisory support to the founding CEO of PayRange in 2013. As an Angel Investor at Portland Seed Fund starting in 2012, they invested in early-stage startups primarily in the Pacific Northwest. Josh also held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Apex Clearing Corporation from 2019 to 2022. Before that, they worked as a Senior Principal Architect at Citrix from 2018 to 2019, where they guided technology, operational, and strategic integration efforts. Josh co-founded and organized the Portland C++ User Group (PDXCPP) from 2014 to 2018, facilitating collaboration among C++ developers. Prior to that, they were the Chief Architect at Cedexis, a company acquired by Citrix, where they built a SaaS platform for optimal routing of applications and content.

Josh Gray earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering from Oregon State University, where they studied from 1991 to 1995.
