Scott Miller has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Scott started their career as a Sales Intern at Caterpillar Inc. in 1998 and worked there until 1999. Scott then joined Union County Public Schools as a Business & Entrepreneurship HS Teacher from 2006 to 2008. After that, they worked at Watershed Charlotte as the Director of Leadership & Social Justice Initiatives from 2008 to 2016.

In July 2020, they completed a course on Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging from LinkedIn. Scott also became a Certified Small Giants Leader through the Small Giants Community in October 2019. Furthermore, they obtained the SHRM - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM in August 2020. Lastly, they received training in Other-Centered Sales Training from ASLAN Training and Development, although the specific month and year of completion are not provided.
