Billy Vreeland

Billy Vreeland is a Principal Data Scientist at Rivian, where leadership of the data science team has driven advancements in charging product development, battery engineering, and renewable energy initiatives since August 2020. Prior roles include Senior Manager positions in strategy and data science, leading impactful projects in fleet electrification and charging network strategy. Experience at California Data Science involved directing the application of machine learning to optimize energy systems, while previous roles at ADM Associates and Vanderweil Engineers focused on energy efficiency in utility-scale projects and commercial construction. Vreeland holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, a Data Mining and Applications Certificate from Stanford University, and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Boston University. Additional studies include courses in Sustainable Design at Boston Architectural College.
