Ton Geerts

Ton Geerts is the Juryvoorzitter of the De Nederlandse Portretprijs at Stichting De Nederlandse Portretprijs since March 2023. Previously, Ton Geerts has held various roles at RKD - Nederlands Instituut voor Kunstgeschiedenis, including Senior Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art and Head of Fine Arts after 1750, starting in January 2009. Prior experience includes serving as Curator of Modern Art at Rijksmuseum Twenthe from March 1999 to December 2008, as a researcher at KNAW from 1995 to 1997, and as an art historian at Bilderdijk-Museum in Amsterdam from 1990 to 1994. Ton Geerts completed a degree at Utrecht University from 1984 to 1990, focusing on art history and collections research.
