Julie Struble

Julie Struble has over 12 years of experience in the biotechnology industry. Julie began their career in 2008 as a Post Doctoral Researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory where they evaluated microorganisms for their potential to be used in biofuel fermentations via toxicity and growth assays. Julie also devised and executed cloning strategies needed to transfer new metabolic pathways into non-E. coli microbial hosts.

In 2010, Julie moved to ChromaDex where they served as a Microbiology Group Leader, managing personnel and budgets for a group responsible for testing for microbial contaminants of nutraceuticals products. Julie also optimized performance and yields of genetically modified bacterial strains producing anthocyanin via medium and fermentation condition changes.

From 2012 to 2020, Julie worked at Alder BioPharmaceuticals, Inc. in various roles including Scientist II, Manufacturing, Science, & Technology, Scientist II, Process Engineering, Fermentation Engineer, Manufacturing, and Fermentation Engineer, Process Development. In this role, they collaborated with teams as an upstream process and recombinant strain expert to produce biotherapeutics for clinical trials and commercial supply. Julie also served as a go-to resource for statistical and deep-dive data analysis and provided expertise for technology transfer and scale-up activities for transfer of processes to international contract manufacturing sites (up to 40 kL).

In 2020, Julie joined RMC Pharmaceutical Solutions as a Senior Consultant, where they are a functional expert helping clients meet CMC goals. Julie has experience with production of small protein, monoclonal antibody, and vaccine products.

Julie Struble holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, as well as a BS in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University. In addition, they have obtained two certifications: Data Science from Kal Academy in May 2020, and "Exceptional Technical-Scientific Writing" from Hurley Write, Inc. in October 2016.
