Farid Ait-Chaalal

Farid Ait-Chaalal has a diverse background in atmospheric sciences, with experience as a Principal Modeler at RMS where they focused on winter storms in Europe and North America. Prior to that, they held roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zurich and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Brown University and California Institute of Technology. Farid also pursued a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences at McGill University, where they conducted research on resolution effects on ozone layer chemistry. Farid also worked as a teaching assistant during their doctoral studies. Additionally, they gained research experience as a Research Intern at Ouranos/UQAM.

Farid Ait-Chaalal completed their Ph.D in Atmospheric Sciences at McGill University from 2007 to 2011. Prior to this, they earned an engineering degree and Master of Science in Fluid Mechanics and Earth Sciences from École Polytechnique from 2002 to 2007. Farid also completed French "classes preparatoires" in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry at Louis-Le-Grand in Paris, France in 2001-2002. In 2018, they obtained a certification as a Certified Catastrophe Risk Analyst (CCRA).
