Irene Paajanen has a diverse range of work experience spanning various industries. Irene started their career as a Quality Control Laborant at ConMed Linvatec Biomaterials Oy in 2002 and later worked as a Summer Trainee at Björkboda Lås Oy Ab in 2004. In 2006, they served as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator at M-real Simpele and concurrently worked as a Researcher/PhD Student at Tampere University of Technology.
In 2008, Irene joined Nanten Lattiat Oy as an R&D Engineer. After gaining experience in engineering, Irene transitioned to a role as Järjestösihteeri at Hämeen Partiopiiri ry in 2010. Irene then became a Quality Manager at Envor Group Oy in 2013 before moving on to become an SHE Manager at DuPont Industrial Biosciences in 2017.
Currently, Irene holds the position of Head of HSEQ at Roal Oy since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Quality Control and Environmental Manager at Roal Oy from August 2020 to April 2021, and as an Environmental Manager from May 2019 to April 2021. Irene's work experience demonstrates their expertise in quality control, environmental management, and health and safety.
Irene Paajanen completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from Espoo-Vantaa University of Applied Sciences, from 1998 to 2002. Irene then pursued their Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental and Energy Technology from Tampere University of Technology, from 2002 to 2006. In addition to their degrees, Irene Paajanen also obtained certifications such as "Maakaasun käytön valvoja" (Supervisor of Natural Gas Use) and "Vaarallisten kemikaalien teollisen käsittelyn ja varastoinnin käytönvalvoja" (Supervisor of Industrial Handling and Storage of Hazardous Chemicals) from the Turvallisuus- ja kemikaalivirasto (Tukes) - Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency, in June 2013.
