Michiel van Voorst

Portfolio Manager Fintech/global Financials at Robeco

Michiel van Voorst, CFA has nearly 25 years of experience in the financial industry. Michiel currently serves as a Portfolio Manager for Fintech/Global Financials at Robeco since March 2020. Previously, Michiel worked at UBP - Union Bancaire Privée from December 2017 to March 2020, where they held the position of Chief Investment Officer Asian Equities and Managing Director. In this role, they were responsible for managing the Asian equity franchise and served as the Responsible Officer for the SFC regulated activity 'Asset Management'.

Starting in 2005, Michiel worked at Robeco for over a decade. During their tenure, they held several senior roles, including Senior Portfolio Manager for Robeco Asia Pacific Equities and Fund Manager for Robeco Asian Stars. Michiel managed the Asian Stars fund, a benchmark-agnostic strategy focusing on the best investment opportunities in Asia ex Japan ex Australia. Michiel also served as the Senior Portfolio Manager for the Rolinco Global Growth Fund, which concentrated on investing in global growth companies and managed multiple institutional Global High Risk mandates.

Prior to joining Robeco, Michiel worked as a Senior Portfolio Manager for US Equities at PGGM from September 2001 to August 2005. Michiel started their career at Rabobank in October 1998, where they served as a Senior Emerging Market Economist and Country Risk Analyst. Before that, they worked as an Economist at Eurodad from August 1996 to September 1998.

Michiel van Voorst brings a wealth of experience in portfolio management, Asian equities, global growth investments, and emerging market analysis to their current role. Their expertise and track record make him a valuable asset in the financial industry.

Michiel van Voorst, CFA completed their Master's degree in Social and Institutional Economics at Utrecht University from 1993 to 1996. In 2004, they obtained their CFA designation from the CFA Institute, specializing in Finance. In 2010, they pursued the Practical History of Financial Markets at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. Michiel also attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2000, focusing on International Finance. Additionally, they completed the High Performance Leadership programme at IMD in 2012.
