Dr. Christian John

Dr. Christian John has extensive work experience in various technology-related roles. Dr. Christian began their career as a Promotionsstipendium for FAZIT-Stiftung in 2010 before moving on to work as a Software Developer for StoneOne AG in 2011. From 2012 to 2013, they served as a Senior Researcher/Projektleiter at Fraunhofer FOKUS. Dr. Christian then returned to StoneOne AG as a Senior Software Developer from 2013 to 2016. At Akelius GmbH, Dr. John held roles as a Senior Software Developer/Scrum Master from 2016 to 2017, and as a Development Lead from 2017 to 2018.

Dr. Christian'snext role was at Chegg Inc., where they worked as an Engineering Manager, building and enabling cross-functional Scrum Teams and developing the new Math Engine from 2018 to 2020. Dr. Christian then joined STRATO AG as the Head of Engineering Cloud Storage, managing three teams and overseeing the strategy process from 2020 to 2021. At sofatutor GmbH, Dr. John served as the Head of Technology, managing five engineering teams and leading the scaling of the department from 2021 to 2022.

Most recently, Dr. John worked at Taxfix as a Senior Engineering Manager - Tax Platform Group from 2022 to 2023, responsible for developing the new platform/system and improving the experience for internal tax experts and product teams. Dr. Christian is currently the Head of Software Engineering and Architecture Unit at the Robert Koch Institute, starting in 2023.

Dr. Christian John obtained a degree in Wirtschaftsmathematik from Technische Universität Berlin from 2001 to 2007. Dr. Christian'sdegree is a Dr.rer.nat. / Dipl.-Math.oec.
