Edwin L. "Sandy" Detherage

Sandy Detherage has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Edwin L. "Sandy"​ started their career in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Control Specialist from May 1976 to May 1980. Following that, they joined the Federal Aviation Administration and worked as an Air Traffic Controller/Manager until June 2012. During this time, they retired from their managerial position. In 2012, Sandy joined Melissa ISD as a Substitute Teacher until May 2016. Simultaneously, they also worked at Barnabas Mission as a Mentor starting from an unknown date in 2012 and later took on the role of a Life Coach from September 2016 onwards. Additionally, in 2020, Sandy worked as an Air Traffic Controller at Robinson Aviation (RVA), Inc. and as an Asia Representative at Next Generation for Christ.

Edwin L. "Sandy" Detherage's education history includes a range of experiences in various educational institutions. In 1976, they enrolled at the Community College of the Air Force and completed an Associate's Degree in Air Traffic Control. Continuing their studies, they joined Wayland Baptist University from 1976 to 1980, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Air Traffic Control. Edwin L. "Sandy"​ then furthered their academic journey at the Harding Graduate School of Religion from 1980 to 1981, working towards a Master's Degree in Religion/Religious Studies, though they were unable to complete the program. Finally, from 1987 to 1989, they attended Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology, obtaining a Master's Degree in Education.
