Our Sales team is currently looking for a Sales Engineer located in Japan to fill a permanent position. The function requires frequent travel throughout the territory, between 50% to 75% of the time.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Under the supervision of the APAC General Manager, with a dotted line to Support and Services, the Sales Engineer is designed to provide pre and post sales technical support for customers with large, repeat business potential. Primary focus would be on our applications solutions products portfolio, specifically Palletizing, Screwdriving and Machine Tending. 

MORE SPECIFICALLY, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD BE : 

  • Provide Field interface for Applications Solutions Accounts in Japan.

  • Coordinate the Support to our partners and strategic clients throughout the process of building their Robotics cell, before, during and after the sale.

  • Coordinate other technical and commercial resources as required within the region.

  • Be a team player and collaborate with various functions.

  • Responsible for managing and coordinating efforts of Robotiq’s Application Solutions within assigned territory.

  • Professionally represent Robotiq at Partners, Events and Customers throughout the territory.

  • Develop new and grow existing relationships (Hunting to create and farming to take a deeper dive).

  • Pipeline/Opportunity Management.

  • Overachieve sales objectives in a given territory.

  • Responsible for identifying, developing and managing Applications Solutions targets and objectives within assigned territory.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, electronic or electrical) or degree in a related field;

  • Significant experience in technical solution sales, related to our line of business such as industrial automation, robotics, packaging, etc.

  • Highly motivated self-starter (entrepreneurial skillset) with ownership and accountability of results;

  • Excellent ability to build and maintain relationships;

  • Service oriented and keen troubleshooting skills;

  • Proficiency in oral and written Japanese and English languages.

  • Availability for travel up to 75% of your time within Japan or other potential areas - Ensure possession of a valid passport and driving license;

  • Asset: Experience with Universal Robots (UR) Cobots.
