Alex Lobos

Alex Lobos serves as the Director of the School of Design and a Full Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where involvement extends to the College of Art and Design and the Golisano Institute for Sustainability. With a career that includes titles such as Graduate Director for Industrial Design and Fellow in the Arts at RIT, Lobos has also held positions as a Visiting Professor at Universidad de Monterrey and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In industry roles, Lobos worked as an Industrial Designer at General Electric and completed a design internship at Whirlpool Corporation. Education includes an MFA in Industrial Design from the University of Notre Dame and a BID in Industrial Design from Universidad Rafael Landívar. Additionally, Lobos is a Research Fellow Emeritus at Autodesk and has been involved with the Material Design Journal as a Fellow in-residence and Editorial Board Member.
