Colin Uhrich P.Eng, CPEng

Colin Uhrich, P.Eng, CPEng, has a diverse range of work experience in the engineering field. Colin is currently the Head of Avionics at Rocket Factory Augsburg - RFA. Prior to this, they worked at Dawn Aerospace as a Senior Electrical Engineer, contributing to the development of a space plane for transporting cube-sats to LEO.

From 2018 to 2020, Colin worked at Rocket Lab, where they held multiple roles including Avionics Systems Engineer, Integration & Test Engineer, and Vehicle Operator. Colin managed interfaces with design teams and contributed to the company's mission of sending satellites into orbit.

Before Rocket Lab, Colin worked at Airdyne R&D as an Avionics Engineer and Aerospace System Design and Integration Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing projects and personnel, ensuring adherence to budget and timeline constraints.

Colin also has experience at Thermon as a Systems Engineering Manager and Lead Project Engineer. Colin led teams and oversaw systems architecture, design upgrades, integration, and recruitment.

Prior to that, they worked as a Project Manager - Electrical Engineering at Enerflex Ltd., where they coordinated activities and ensured compliance with safety standards in industrial gas compressor systems.

Colin's earlier experiences include roles at National Oilwell Varco as a Control System Designer/Engineer, Hotwell Canada as a Data Well Logger and Research and Development Engineer, and Fairborne Energy Ltd. as an Engineering EIT.

Colin Uhrich, P.Eng, CPEng, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Specializing in Electronics & Optoelectronics from the University of Saskatchewan, which they obtained from 2004 to 2009.

In terms of additional certifications, Colin Uhrich is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), which they obtained in March 2021. Colin is also a Recognized Chartered Member (CMEngNZ) of Engineering New Zealand, a certification they obtained in April 2018. Furthermore, Colin Uhrich is an Accredited Professional Engineer (P.Eng) from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), a certification they obtained in September 2016.
