Position Overview

Rockpoint is searching for a Risk Manager to oversee insurance programs and risk management policies for all assets within the Firm’s portfolio in coordination with professionals across Rockpoint’s legal and investment teams in Boston, Dallas, and San Francisco. The successful candidate will report to Rockpoint’s General Counsel and will provide significant leverage to investment team, demonstrating advanced expertise in risk strategy within the commercial real estate industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive insurance programs for real estate investments and firm operations
  • Provide internal support and expertise in risk and insurance to better navigate business needs
  • Collect, analyze, and organize data for insurance program submissions
  • Lead insurance program renewals with insurance brokerage partners
  • Manage construction-related policy procurement and track third-party policies, including policy schedules and timelines
  • Establish, review, develop, and approve insurance requirements for contracts including but not limited to: property management, development management, construction, leases, joint venture, loan agreements, and other insurable risks
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokerage partners and major insurance companies to ensure efficiency of insurance program administration
  • Communicate strategies related to program recommendations and risk management initiatives

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of commercial insurance with a focus on real estate

  • Minimum 7 years of real-estate related risk management experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Strong customer service orientation, sense of urgency, and ability to anticipate and act upon internal and external needs

  • Ability to use good judgment and handle sensitive and confidential information

  • Outstanding productivity and proven organizational, time management, and prioritization skills

  • Exceptional quantitative, written and oral communication skills, with acute attention to detail

  • Demonstrated capacity to take ownership, be accountable, and learn quickly

  • Team-player, with an ability to solve problems while collaborating with various interdepartmental personnel

  • Intelligence, integrity, drive, and flexibility

Location

The role may be based in Rockpoint’s Boston, San Francisco, or Dallas offices.  Rockpoint’s General Counsel and risk management team are based in Dallas.
