For 45 years, RMHC Bay Area has been there for sick kids and their families, providing comfort and support when and where they need it most. Today, RMHC Bay Area serves critically ill children and their families through a network of programs that provide housing, meals, and psychosocial support inside or nearby Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals in San Francisco and Oakland. In addition, Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles provides free dental care services to children in the East and South Bay in partnership with John Muir Community Health Alliance and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Corporate Philanthropy and Engagement reports to the Vice President of Advancement and is responsible the development and execution for RMHC Bay Area’s corporate, vendor, and hospital partners philanthropic strategy and regional engagement strategy. They will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing new corporate partnerships and sponsorships to advance the organization's mission and fundraising.

The Manger, will be able to build strong, trusting relationships with the Chief Executive Officer, Senior Leadership Team, Board, Advancement team, and key donors; establish a visible and dynamic presence as a leader throughout the RMHC Bay Area community, and throughout the Bay Area’s business and philanthropic communities.

This position will coordinate with RMHC Bay Area leadership, board of director members, and marketing staff to ensure cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational priorities and goals. This position may work remotely 1-day per week and will need to be available to work evenings and weekends as corporate or engagement demands.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Development and Fundraising

  • Leads the design and implement a comprehensive multi-year fundraising strategy.

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate donors, building and sustaining strong partnerships.

  • Build a strong pipeline of corporate prospects using best practices to identify and engage them in our mission and impact. Leverage connections from our senior leadership team and Board to expand our funder network.

  • Research and pursue a list of top corporate prospects for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship each fiscal year.

  • Develop compelling proposals and presentations to attract new corporate donors and sponsors.

  • Recruit, organize, train, and support volunteer committees to enhance corporate and individual sponsorship efforts.

  • Monitor and report on corporate giving trends and adjust strategies to enhance corporate engagement and support.

  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Advancement to identify fundraising needs and develop strategies for annual, programmatic, campaign, and endowment fundraising.

Strategic Outreach & Engagement

  • Seek out and establish partnership opportunities with community organizations, businesses, corporate social responsibility teams, sport franchises, and donors across the region to help RMHC Bay Area broaden and deepen its impact.

  • Create and oversee implementation of donor relations and engagement activities tailored for establishing new relationships across RMHC Bay Area region to foster long-term partnerships with the aim of converting them into loyal donors.

  • Lead in collaboration with Advancement staff, build anchor engagement events that raise visibility among community partners and corporate funders.

  • Manage third party fundraisers for community and corporate groups, serving as organizational liaison for existing service groups (ADPi, etc)

  • Build and maintain volunteer services relationships at partner hospitals to increase efficiency, share best practices, and establish workflows for shared programs.

  • Manage the development and execution of stewardship and engagement benefits and recognition activities for individual, group, community, and corporate volunteers.

  • Act as an RMHC representative and spokesperson and effectively network in various venues and in front of a wide range of audiences.

Programs & Special Constituents

  • Volunteer Programs: Develop and manage individual, group, community, and corporate volunteer programs. Work closely with operations/programs staff, to develop Bay Area-wide volunteer engagement programs an offering roles and opportunities to build pipeline for RMHC Bay Area leadership
  • Advisory Councils: Develop, execute strategy, and manage RMHC Advisory Councils and Fundraising Event Committees
    • Facilitate regular meetings, providing guidance and support to ensure alignment with RMHC Bay Area’s mission and goals.
    • Develop and implement engagement strategies to maximize the impact of advisory councils and committee members.
    • Coordinate with members to organize and execute events and initiatives.
    • Track and report on the activities and contributions of advisory board members.
  • Meal Program, In-Hospital Hospitality & Summer Camps: Oversee the Engagement & Volunteer Service Coordinator to manage Stanford house volunteer meal service and summer camp programs, BCH San Francisco and Oakland in-hospital family hospitality programs, and teen advisory council

Management

  • Manage the Engagement & Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

  • Develop and execute annual work plans, goal setting, metrics, and reporting for success

  • Develop and execute annual marketing and communication strategy for advisory councils, event committees, year-round donation drives, and wish lists

  • Collaborate with marketing staff to manage volunteer and third-party websites

  • Monitor gift receipt process for in-kind

  • Develop and manage program budget

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREREQUISITES EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, funder or volunteer relationship management and/or a related field

  • Proven successful project management skills, strategic planning, and financial acumen

  • Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with confidence-inspiring attitude

  • Technical skills required to create proposals, and use fundraising, project management software programs

  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally and building strong internal and external relationships

  • Flexibility to welcome and embrace change and a willingness to work in a fluid environment; exceptional work ethic

  • Comfort interacting with families, staff, and multi-level stakeholders from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds within a semi-medical environment; a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging principles and practices to address bias and inequity

  • Willingness and ability to travel locally when needed
