Dries Deforche

Dries Deforche has extensive work experience in the legal and asset management sectors. Dries is currently the Vice President Legal EMEAC and Americas at Rosewood Hotel Group, a position they have held since November 2021. Prior to that, they served as the General Counsel at Napoleon Sports & Casino Online from July 2021 to November 2021. Before joining Rosewood Hotel Group, Dries worked at Marriott International as the Vice President Asset Management EMEA from January 2021 to June 2021, and as the Vice President Asset Management MEA from July 2017 to December 2020. Dries also held the role of Director Legal and Associate General Counsel EAME at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. from October 2012 to June 2017. Dries began their career as an Associate at Linklaters from September 2010 to September 2012, and as a Junior Associate at Deloitte Legal from September 2006 to September 2009. Additionally, they gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant in Corporate Law and Conflict of Laws at K.U.Leuven from January 2007 to August 2009.

Dries Deforche completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Law from KU Leuven in 2003. Dries then pursued a Master's degree in Law from the same institution from 2004 to 2006. In 2005, they also spent a year studying Law on exchange at The University of Sheffield. Later, in 2009, Dries obtained an LL.M degree in Law from Duke University School of Law. Prior to their legal education, they attended Sint-Leocollege and focused on Maths and Science from 1996 to 2001.
