T.G. Emyr Davies started their work experience in 1989 at Rothamsted Research as a Principal Research Scientist. T.G. Emyr'sresearch during this period focused on understanding the molecular basis of target site resistance to pyrethroids and DDT in agricultural pests and vectors of human disease. In the later years, they specifically studied insect ryanodine receptors, which are the molecular targets of insecticides.
In 1989, Davies also joined the Institute of Arable Crops Research, Rothamsted as a Postdoctoral Researcher. In 1990, they became a Senior Research Scientist in the Biochemistry & Physiology Department. T.G. Emyr'sresearch in this position involved studying the control of vacuole formation in plants and gaining insight into the mechanisms of uptake of fluorescent dyes into plant vacuoles.
T.G. Emyr Davies pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Senescence in Graminaceous species from IGER, IBERS, from 1986 to 1989.
