Gavin Harrison

Assistant Curator at Rothschild Foundation

Gavin Harrison is an experienced aviculturist and assistant curator currently working at the Rothschild Foundation since January 2013, where responsibility includes managing a specialized collection of predominantly soft-bill bird species with a focus on conservation. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Aviculturist and Senior Bird Keeper at The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, overseeing a team and various avian species, as well as involvement in significant projects such as the Henderson Island Restoration Project with the RSPB. Additional contributions to bird conservation are evident through work with Falklands Conservation and the National Trust for Scotland. Gavin holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Welfare and Management from the University of Northampton, along with advanced qualifications from Sparsholt College Hampshire in Zoo Resource Management and Zoo Animal Management.
