Laura Reyes has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Laura started their career in 2013 as an Autocad Drafter Intern at Creative Art and Design Inc., where they drafted structural drawings and communicated with customers. In 2015, they joined the Senior Undergraduate program at Florida International University, focusing on aerospace materials and developing a spray pyrolysis system for synthesizing nano-ceramic powders. Concurrently, they worked at the Plasma Forming Lab, conducting research on energy conservation and testing the effects of 2D Boron nitride nanoplatelets on natural oils. From 2016 to 2017, Laura worked as a Research Manager at Florida International University, managing a team and overseeing lab operations. Laura also worked as a Biomaterials Engineer at the Plasma Forming Lab, engineering hydroxyapatite coatings for knee and hip prosthetics. In 2016, Laura participated in the NASA outreach program, simulating swarm robots and developing search algorithms for cooperative robotic swarms. Laura then pursued a PhD at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, focusing on their research as a Project Engineer at RoviSys from 2018. Throughout their career, Laura has gained expertise in materials science, robotics, project management, and research.

Laura Reyes attended Florida International University from 2010 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
