Curator Emeritus at Royal Armouries Museum

Bob Woosnam-Savage FSA is an experienced curator and artwork adviser with a focus on European arms and edged weapons. Currently serving as an Artwork Adviser for Medieval World: Culture & Conflict at Karwansaray B.V. and Curator Emeritus at the Royal Armouries Museum since January 2022, Woosnam-Savage has held multiple curatorial roles at the Royal Armouries Museum from 2000 to 2021, including Curator of Armour and Edged Weapons and Senior Curator. A Visiting Researcher in the School of History at the University of Leeds since 2016 and Series Editor for the Boydell & Brewer 'Armour and Weapons' book series, Woosnam-Savage has a rich academic background with a Post Graduate Diploma in Art Gallery and Museum Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in History of Art from The University of Manchester. Notable projects include co-curating the exhibition 'Arms and Armour from the Movies: The Wonderful World of Weta' and curating significant exhibitions commemorating historical events.
