Catherine Van Blomestein has over 25 years of experience in finance and accounting roles. Catherine started their career at PwC as a Senior Assurance Accountant, working on audit clients in various industries. Catherine then joined BHP Billiton as a Compliance Accountant, where they were responsible for ensuring internal compliance and coordinating statutory reporting. Catherine later worked at Tenix as a Project Accountant for the Anzac Ship Project, overseeing month-end reporting, fixed asset management, and budgeting. Catherine then joined Hardman Resources Ltd as a Financial Accountant, leading a team in completing monthly consolidated results for the oil and gas exploration company. Catherine joined Newmont Australia as a Senior Accounting Analyst and later became a Senior Accountant at Newmont Mining Corporation, where they supervised the treasury function, handled consolidation accounting reporting, and ensured compliance with controls and statutory reporting requirements. Most recently, they have been working as a Finance Manager at Karora Resources.

Catherine Van Blomestein began their education in 1992 at The University of Western Australia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting & Finance. Catherine completed their undergraduate studies in 1994. In 1995, they enrolled at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, where they obtained their Chartered Accountant certification in 1998. After that, Catherine returned to The University of Western Australia and pursued a Master of Business Administration degree from 2009 to 2011.
