Bruce Liu

Bruce Liu has a diverse work experience in the field of power systems and renewable energy integration. Bruce started their career in 2015 as a Research Assistant at the University of Manitoba, where they focused on reactive power control methods for photovoltaic inverters. Bruce also worked as a Teaching Assistant for the course ECE 4370: Power Electronics, where they instructed and supervised lab sections.

In 2018, Bruce interned at Manitoba Hydro as part of an MITACS-sponsored program. Bruce developed a novel control strategy for a multiport DC-DC converter for DC grid applications.

Bruce then worked as an R&D Engineer at the State Grid Corporation of China in 2019, where they focused on the development of FACTS devices and HVDC simulation models. Bruce also worked as a Simulation Engineer at RTDS Technologies Inc. from 2022.

Between 2020 and 2022, Bruce worked at Stantec as an Engineer in Training, specializing in power system studies including HVDC & FACTS and renewable energy integration. Bruce'sresponsibilities included conducting EMT simulation studies and modeling renewable energy resources.

Bruce Liu completed their Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba from 2014 to 2017. Bruce then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the same institution from 2017 to 2019.
