Cody Brooks

Cody Brooks is an experienced journalist currently serving as the Hawai'i correspondent for RTO Insider LLC’s renewable energy publication, NetZero, since April 2021. Prior to this role, Cody worked as a freelance reporter for WhoWhatWhy, focusing on investigative journalism in politics from 2017 to October 2022. Additional freelance reporting experience includes contributions to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle and NYC Community Media’s The Villager from April 2015 to October 2022, as well as a photography writer position at Digital Trends in 2014. Earlier career highlights consist of writing for ChinaTopix, serving as a writing intern for Peter Greenberg Worldwide, and holding a staff writer role at Focus Magazine. Cody’s writing background is complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from The University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinematography and Film/Video Production from Full Sail University.
