Ben Theodore

Ben Theodore has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Ben most recently worked at Run for Something as the Alumni Director, overseeing alumni and candidate programs. Prior to that, they were the Senior Manager of Alumni and Candidate Programs at the same organization. Ben also served as the Alumni Manager at Run for Something from 2018 to 2020.

Before joining Run for Something, Ben worked at the NYC Department of Education as the Senior Program Manager of Teacher Recognition and New Teacher Support. Ben was responsible for managing various programs, including the Big Apple Awards and the Teachers of Tomorrow incentive program.

From 2013 to 2015, Ben worked at the District of Columbia Public Schools as the Coordinator of Teacher Retention and Recognition. Their responsibilities included analyzing data, managing the Teaching in Action program, and organizing teacher awards selection.

Additionally, Ben has experience in political campaigns, having worked as a Communications Staffer for Jessica Swanson's campaign for Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in 2015. Ben also worked as a Finance Assistant for Walt Waite's campaign for State Representative in 2010.

Ben started their career in education as a Secondary Mathematics Teacher at Prince George's County Public Schools from 2011 to 2013. Ben achieved high student proficiency rates and led professional development for the math department.

Furthermore, Ben has experience in the non-profit sector, having worked as a Corps Member Onboarding Facilitator at Teach For America in 2012. Ben was responsible for processing documents for licensure and certification for new corps members.

During their time at Haverford College, Ben gained experience in athletic training as a Student Trainer from 2007 to 2011. Ben also worked as a Research Assistant at Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research and as a Student Assistant in the Haverford College Provost Office.

Ben Theodore holds a Master's Degree in Political Management from The Graduate School of Political Management, which they obtained from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they pursued their undergraduate studies at Haverford College from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a B.A. in Political Science. In addition to their degrees, Ben also obtained a Standard Professional I Educator Certificate from the State of Maryland in July 2013.
