Cristian Rossi

Geospatial Science Lead at Satellite Applications Catapult

Cristian Rossi has a diverse work experience, starting in 2006 as a Project Engineer at Aresys Srl. Cristian then worked as a Research Scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) from 2008 to 2017. From 2017 to 2022, they held roles at the Satellite Applications Catapult, including Senior SAR Specialist, Principal Earth Observation Specialist, and Geospatial Science Lead. In 2021, they became a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Oxford. Currently, they are an Associate Research Fellow at the UK Centre for Greening Finance and Investment since 2023.

Cristian Rossi obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Faculty of Civil, Geo and Environmental Engineering, Chair of Remote Sensing Technology from the Technical University of Munich, from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Telecommunications Engineering with a Signal Processing Specialisation from Politecnico di Milano, from 2003 to 2006. Cristian also completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, from 2000 to 2003.
