Joao Borges

Joao Borges has over 25 years of extensive experience in the aviation maintenance sector, specializing in B1/C certifications for various aircraft, including A330 and A340, across multiple companies. Currently serving as B1/C Team Leader at Sabena Aerospace since September 2021, Joao has previously held significant roles at HI FLY and Brussels Airlines, managing line and heavy maintenance as well as A-Checks and AOG situations. Joao's career began in the Portuguese Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic, followed by a tenure at TAP Portugal, where foundational skills were developed. Additional experience includes management positions at NordicMRO and Lufthansa Technik Malta Ltd., among others. Joao is noted for expertise with significant engine types including CFM56, PW4000, and Trent700. Educated in Informática e Gestão at Escola Secundária Alves Redol, Joao possesses a strong technical background reinforced by practical leadership skills in aviation maintenance.
