Aidan O'Brien

Head Of Infrastructure & Analytics at Saber Astronautics

Aidan O'Brien has an extensive work experience history. Aidan began their career as a communications sailor in the Royal Australian Navy, where they were responsible for computer networks and satellite communications systems. After leaving the Navy, they worked as a retail sales assistant at Bunnings, where they specialized in power gardening. Aidan then pursued various internships and research positions, including at Marathon Targets, where they developed a test suite to improve product durability.

In 2014, O'Brien joined Saber Astronautics as a Space Operations Intern, where they set up hardware and software for the new operations center. Aidan also had a second internship with the company, where they worked on projects involving systems analysis and big data analysis. Aidan later became the Head of Infrastructure & Analytics, setting standards and policies for data infrastructure.

O'Brien also worked for Capital Markets CRC Limited as a Research Consultant, conducting research in health informatics and data science in collaboration with Macquarie University and NSW Health. Aidan also served as a Research Officer at NSW Health.

In 2015, O'Brien joined Datalicious Pty Ltd as a Graduate Intern Data Engineer, where they implemented analytics tracking for a client's website. Aidan later became a Project Manager, overseeing multiple projects focused on big data analytics implementations.

Throughout their career, O'Brien has demonstrated their expertise in data analytics, infrastructure development, machine learning, and research. Aidan also served as an Engineering Design Tutor at the University of New South Wales, imparting their knowledge and assisting students with design methods and technical writing.

Aidan O'Brien's education history begins in 2011 when they enrolled at UNSW and pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechatronic Engineering. Aidan completed this program in 2015. In 2016, Aidan attended Macquarie University and obtained a Master of Research degree in Health Innovation, which they completed in 2017.

In terms of additional certifications, Aidan secured several qualifications over the years. In 2013, they completed the "Astrobiology and the Search for Extraterrestrial Life" course from Coursera. The following year, in 2014, they completed three courses: "Introduction to Systems Engineering," "Nanotechnology: The Basics," and "Machine Learning," all offered by Coursera. Aidan then obtained the "Google Analytics Individual Qualification" in November 2015. In January 2016, Aidan earned the "Scrum Fundamentals Certified (SFC)" certification from SCRUMstudy. Furthermore, in December 2016, they obtained the "Update in Health Information Technology: Healthcare Data Analytics" certification from Oregon Health & Science University.

In 2020, Aidan pursued a Graduate Certificate in Space Operations at UNSW Canberra, completing the program that same year. Currently, in 2021, Aidan is enrolled in the Master of Space Operations program at UNSW Canberra, specializing in Space Systems Operations.
