James Collins has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. James began their career as a Sales Advisor at B&Q plc in 2006, where they worked until 2010. From 2010 to 2011, James worked at Marks & Spencers in the Operations & Facilities department. James then became a Marketing Executive at Arcedia Direct from March 2011 to July 2011. In 2012, James joined Nisbets PLC and held multiple positions including Pricing Assistant, Pricing & Product Selection Analyst, and finally Project Manager - Customer Experience & Innovations from August 2015 to October 2018. Following this, James worked as a Senior Project Manager at West Corporation from October 2018 to February 2020. James then joined Woven as a Project Manager from February 2020 to September 2020 and subsequently became the Head of Change from September 2020 to July 2021. Currently, James is working as a Project Manager at Sabio since July 2021.

James Collins attended the University of the West of England from 2007 to 2010, where they studied Marketing and Multimedia Computing. James did not obtain a degree during this time. In terms of additional certifications, James obtained the PRINCE2 Foundation certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in May 2018 and the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification from the same institution in June 2018. More recently, in August 2021, they obtained the "Project Portfolio Management Foundations" certification from LinkedIn.
