Surekha Athota

Surekha Athota, PMP®, has a diverse work experience in the IT industry, spanning various roles and responsibilities. Surekha started their career as a Software Developer at SRA OSS, Inc. from March 2011 to October 2012, where they were involved in designing, developing, and testing software modules using ASP.NET, WPF, and Silverlight.

In 2013, Surekha worked as a Freelance .NET Developer at D3 - IT SOLUTIONS for a brief period from January to March. Surekha then joined SADAD Electronic Payment System BSC, where they held multiple positions over the years. From March 2013 to December 2017, they served as a Software Engineer, demonstrating excellent programming skills and a strong understanding of Object-Oriented programming concepts in C#.NET. Surekha also had significant experience in designing and developing applications using the MVC architecture.

Surekha's role at SADAD evolved, and from January 2018 to April 2021, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for requirements gathering, complete process documentation, leading the application's design and development, financial report generation for reconciliation, and deploying the application on Windows servers.

Surekha then transitioned to the role of Principal Software Engineer at SADAD from May 2021 to June 2022. During this time, they continued to contribute to the development and management of software projects.

In addition to their technical roles, Surekha has also been actively involved in the TKS Toastmasters Club since March 2022, where they serve as Secretary and Member. The club is part of Toastmasters International, a nonprofit educational organization that focuses on improving public speaking and leadership skills.

Surekha Athota, PMP®, holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from Prakasam Engineering College, O.V.Road, Kandukur, and completed their degree from 2004 to 2008. In 2008, they received a certificate in IT from IIIT Hyderabad. Additionally, Surekha completed their secondary education at ZPH School, where they focused on Mathematics.

Surekha has also pursued professional certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Surekha obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in July 2023. Furthermore, they have obtained various certifications, such as the Fundamentals of Agile Project Management from the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) in October 2020, Data Privacy: Middle East Edition from Thomson Reuters in August 2022, and Fraud Awareness (Mena)-Game Based from Thomson Reuters in May 2022. Surekha has also earned certifications in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Fraud Awareness (Mena)-Game Based from Thomson Reuters in October 2021 and April 2022, respectively. Additionally, Surekha completed the Anti-Money Laundering Awareness Programme from the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) in April 2021.
