Robert Ireland is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the aerospace and engineering sectors. Currently serving as the 2025 President and Board Member of SAE International, Robert has held multiple leadership roles, including Vice President Aerospace and Trustee of the SAE Foundation. With a strong background at Airlines for America as Vice President of Safety, Maintenance, and Engineering, and previous positions at United Airlines as Managing Director of Flight Training Center Services, Robert has overseen significant projects and provided governance within various organizations. Robert began a distinguished career in engineering with roles at Honeywell Aerospace and Boeing Commercial Airplanes. A graduate of Princeton University with a BSE in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, Robert has consistently contributed to industry advancements and philanthropic initiatives throughout a career spanning over four decades.
