Shannon Olson

Advisory Council Member at Safe Families for Children

Shannon Olson is a seasoned psychotherapist and instructor with extensive experience in trauma-informed care, currently serving at Family Service since May 2020 and as an Advisory Council Member for Safe Families for Children since June 2020. Shannon also holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, teaching courses in psychopathology and trauma counseling. Previously, Shannon led various initiatives at Elmbrook Church, including roles as Local Missions Director and Executive Director of James Place Ministries, while providing clinical psychotherapy to diverse populations. Shannon's early career included roles such as a group facilitator at Family Service of Waukesha and a behavioral health intern at Aurora Health Care, where Shannon developed comprehensive assessment and treatment planning skills. Shannon holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Park University.
